A page maker built around the story

Make an illustrated picture book from a child's own ideas.

Budding combines the pieces that usually interrupt a young storyteller—illustration, page layout, cover art, narration, and sharing—inside one book-making flow.

Twenty ways for the book to look

Families can choose styles ranging from watercolor and pencil sketch to cut paper, chalk, LEGO-like brick scenes, clay dioramas, sock puppets, and bold cartoons. The selected style follows the book through pages, edits, and its cover.

Change a page without rebuilding the book

If a picture misses the point, the child can redo it or describe a change. The rest of the book remains in place, so revision feels like improving a page instead of starting over.

Finish with a cover and reader

When the last page is chosen, Budding creates a cover from the story context. The finished reader keeps the cover, pages, and narration together and can be shared by link when a parent enables it.
