From one idea to a finished book

Make a storybook together, one moment at a time.

Budding keeps the creative decision with the child while taking care of the slow production work around each page.

1. Start with the child's idea

A parent opens the book, chooses an illustration style, and adds an author name. Then the child speaks or types the first thing that happens. There is no outline form and no long setup questionnaire before the story begins.

2. Watch the moment become a page

Budding creates a square illustrated page from that moment. The story continues only when the child is ready to add the next idea.

  • Keep characters and visual style connected across pages
  • Redo a picture or describe a specific change
  • Use Story Helper challenges without being given a plot answer

3. Decide what happens next

The child remains in charge of the sequence. A dragon can apologize, a moon can disappear, or a tiny mouse can change the rules. Budding does not need to know the ending in advance.

4. Finish, listen, and share

When the child chooses the last page, Budding creates a cover and prepares narration. Families can open the reader, listen page by page, export a browser-made copy, or turn on a private-by-default share link for people they choose.
