Why Budding exists
Build the book around the child's imagination.
Budding began as an effort to make the slow parts of picture-book production disappear without taking the story away from the child telling it.
The product principle
A young storyteller should be able to say what happens, see it become a page, and continue. They should not need to understand prompt engineering, image models, production queues, or publishing software.
At the same time, the tool should not complete the imagination for them. Budding is deliberately page-by-page so each new moment still belongs to the child.
Built for family ownership
Accounts are adult-owned and child-created books are private by default. Public-by-link readers are marked noindex and omitted from Budding’s sitemap; anyone with a share link may be able to open it. The web product is operated at buddingstories.com with support at support@buddingstories.com.
What Budding is still improving
Generative illustrations and narration can be imperfect. Budding continues to improve character continuity, page accuracy, generation speed, expressive reading, and the clarity of parent controls while keeping the child-first workflow stable.
