Choose who can open the book

A share link is public access, even when search engines cannot list it.

Noindex keeps a book out of ordinary search results; it does not turn a public link into a password-protected page. Parents should share only with people and channels they trust.

Private by default

A family book begins inside the signed-in account. It does not enter Budding's public sitemap, and another person cannot open it through a public reader until an adult enables sharing.

What public-by-link means

When sharing is enabled, anyone who receives the link may be able to open the reader. The page is marked noindex and nofollow, the route is blocked in robots.txt, and Budding never adds it to the marketing sitemap. Those controls reduce search discovery but do not control forwarding or screenshots.

Turning sharing off

Disabling the share makes the public reader unavailable while keeping the private book in the family library. Parents can create a new share later if they choose. Shared-book URLs are not used as SEO landing pages or external monitoring targets.
